Emma Holland Mountain Training offers a wide range of outdoor excursions including day walks, group walks and multi-day walks which include camping, YHA or B&B stays, or a wild camping. Perhaps you are thinking of tackling a long distance footpath such as the Pennine Way and need a walking guide, or you need to brush up on your map skills so that you’re confident enough to navigate and camp en-route? I will create a fun trip tailored to your individual or group goals.
I offer guided day walks in the Peak District ranging from 5-14 miles depending on the time of year and group ability. Contact me to create a bespoke day out with your friends, family or work colleagues. I will arrange a walk based upon your current fitness levels, walking ability, experience OR if you’d like to explore a new or unfamiliar area of Derbyshire. I know Derbyshire and the Peak District extremely well so I can advise or recommend routes and locations based upon your needs. I can also lead day walks in other areas of the UK.
Multi-day Walking Trips
A 2-3 day walking trip is a great introduction to mini-expeditions, especially if you are planning a multi-day walk of your own and need to build your confidence. Over the course of the two or three days, you will carry all of your equipment, food and have the opportunity to learn useful mountain and camp craft along with practicing your navigational skills along the way. After a good day’s walk we will stay the night at a campsite, YHA or B&B where you can either put your outdoor cooking skills to the test or walk down to a nearby pub for a meal. The goal is for you to enjoy walking over a number of days in a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and learn the practical side of planning a multi-day walk. Along the way, we will have time to explore the natural environment, discuss expedition equipment, walking in other areas of the UK and, best of all, we can talk through ideas and suggestions for your next big adventure – because you will get hooked! The walks will be linear or circular and often involve the use of public transport. You have a choice – you can decide whether to be involved from the start with the planning or you can leave that to Emma to put together a schedule for your trip.
Wild Camping Expeditions
Have you always wanted to try a wild camping expedition but don’t know where to start? An expedition involves wild camping, so there are no pubs or shops nearby when we settle in for the night! You’ll discover how it feels to wake up to a sunrise on top of a mountain, or watch the sun go down before you snuggle into your sleeping bag for the night.
Book a wild camping trip to gain the confidence and knowledge you need to undertake your own expeditions in the future.
